It is your job to determine whether or not King Arthur of Camelot just a made up legend that was passed down to young children or was there something more? Did he really exist but the stories were just embellished to make him seem more than a normal man? Well, it is up to you to figure out the answer to a debate that has been baffling historians far and wide.

Be sure to write down notes that will BOTH support that he is a real man and also NOT support that he is a real man. A good debater will be two steps ahead of their opponent.

Are you a believer or a disbeliever?
Now that you gathered enough evidence, it is time to decide whether you think he is real or just a made up legend. You will organize your evidence to support your claim and also make sure to include the opposing sides argument. Feel free to use the Debate Graphic Organizer below to help you organize your evidence. In the end you will put your evidence on note cards to use for the class debate.

After gathering and organizing your evidence, you and your classmates will be able to debate whether or not he was real of fiction. Remember, you argument is only as good as the evidence you collect to back it up!
